While continuing with the tutorial, I spotted some typos and other minor texual issues in the text: these are fixed here.

While continuing with the tutorial, I spotted some typos and other minor
texual issues in the text: these are fixed here.
I've also purged any trailing whitespace. This change was implemented in a separate commit so that it could be ignored if so desired.
If you wish for any changes, please let me know and I'll be happy to update the PR and resubmit.
